Leningrad Cowboys Go America

A road movie with a difference: follow a struggling Siberian band portrayed by the real-life Leningrad Cowboys from Finland, as they go from their village to find fame and fortune in America with an accompanying opportunist manager and the village idiot. Deadpan comedy ensues as they travel through the American landscape, embracing their love for rock ‘n’ roll in the quirkiest manner possible. Here, director Aki Kaurismaki successfully blends political satire with poignant humour. Also look out for a cameo by acclaimed filmmaker Jim Jarmusch.
